Are you new to the Netherlands and looking for a secondary school?

On this website you will find an overview of the four EOAs in the region (international transition classes for newcomers): https://www.insidr.nl/nko-newcomer-education/. In Dutch ISK means approximately the same as EOA. Usually, after two school years of EOA/ISK, you will move on to a secondary school such as Eckartcollege.

Are you ready to move on to secondary school after 2 years of EOA/ISK?

At the EOA/ISK, you will have received a transfer advice that will show you whether Eckartcollege is suitable for your level. Always bring this transfer advice to the registration interview.

What NT2 support is available at Eckartcollege?

After you have registered for Eckartcollege, we will check whether you are entitled to NT2 facilities. If you have been in education in the Netherlands for less than 6 years, you will receive a NT2 facilities pass. You will be given extra time during your tests. In addition, you may use a Dutch dictionary and/or a translation dictionary (home language-Dutch and vice versa).

If you need extra language support in addition to your subjects, you can follow the NT2 tutoring hour in a small group (1 lesson per week). There is room for help with all the Dutch skills that you need for different subjects: for example reading, listening, speaking, writing, grammar and vocabulary. The NT2 teacher will provide practice material and you will bring your subject textbooks.
